Ludek Pesek was a European old master of space art who died recently. In the early 1980's he did a similar composition, and gave Joe permission do do a tribute. This is Joe's tribute. The ring system appears as a thin line in this view since Dione orbits in the plane of the rings. Several other moons also hug the ring plane. This painting is a tribute to Chesley Bonestell (1888 - 1986), the master of astronomical art. The beauty of Saturn made it a favorite subject which Bonestell often rendered.
