Halley

Halley's Over Antarctica

by by Kim Poor

One of the most well-known of Kim's works, it was completed in 1983, two years before the return of Halley's Comet. This is how the comet appeared in several apparitions near the South Pole. This was the frontispiece in COMET by Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan (American Edition) and was the cover of the book for the international editions, and the paperback version.
