Robert McCall, (1919-2010), came to public attention in the early 1960s as the illustrator for LIFE magazine's memorable series on the future of space travel. At that time, he became one of a few select artists to be chosen for NASA, documenting the progress of American space history.

McCall's heroic artwork has exhibited at many prestigious institutions including the National Gallery of Art, and he has done murals for the National Air & Space Museum, the Pentagon, EPCOT, and Johnson Space Center.

His work for movies includes the landmark 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Black Hole, Tora! Tora! Tora!, and Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

Steeds of Apollo<br>with FLOWN Patch

Steeds of Apollo
with FLOWN Patch

by Lumen Winter
32 in. W x 30 in. H (framed only)

We haven't seen one of these in awhile. This is a framed presentation consisting of a FLOWN Apollo 13 beta cloth patch with a CREW-SIGNED print of Steeds of Apollo, the painting by the late Lumen Winter. The painting, of course, inspired the crew patch.

A limited-edition run of 500 of these prints were made, and the crew signed 100 of them. Jim Lovell provided nearly 70 of these flown patch/print combos to us in 1996, and we framed and sold all of those very quickly, leaving Jim with a dozen or so for children and grandchildren. This print is #467 of 500. COA included.

Ladies of the Lake

Ladies of the Lake

This challenging jigsaw puzzle of Kim Poor's beautiful art contains 1000 interlocking pieces, and measures 28x20 inches when assembled.

Taken from our fastest selling print ever, this stunner appeals to everyone because of its subject matter, color, and execution. Our most popular scene showcases the Pleiades star cluster (or Seven Sisters) in the Taurus constellation, as seen from a hypothetical, icy planet 50 light years distant. A bright, sparkling, tiny cluster of blue stars, unmistakable on winter nights in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Orion Nebula is perhaps the most beautiful in the sky. The nearest of its type to Earth, about 1500 light years away, it is a region of intense stellar formation. In fact, the whole huge constellation of Orion is a stellar nursery.

Starcatcher

This challenging jigsaw puzzle of Kim Poor's beautiful art contains 1000 interlocking pieces, and measures 28x20 inches when assembled.

The Whirlpool Galaxy (M-51) in Canes Venatici, near the Big Dipper, is actually an interacting pair of colliding galaxies. Although M-51 is normally seen face-on from Earth, Kim Poor has instead rendered an impossible view, close up, at a shallow angle. The smaller galaxy passed too close to the larger one, and was captured by one of its spiral arms.
