Dr. Phil Plait affectionately referred to as The Bad Astronomer is an internationally renowned astronomer, author, lecturer, blogger, and President of the James Randi Educational Foundation. He uses mega intelligence, critical thinking and a hefty dash of humor to dismantle pseudoscience, conspiracies, and wild claims of the paranormal. His career as an astronomer has brought him in contact with NASA as a contractor for Goddard Space Flight Center for Hubble. He is in high demand for speaking engagements on radio, television and podcasts, and in-person appearances like ours. He is also the creator of the popular website and blog BadAstronomy.com.

First, Phil will be talking about his wildly popular new book, "Death from the Skies" which outlines all the heavenly threats that can wipe out our species, from rogue asteroids to gamma-ray bursts. Just something else to worry about that we have no control over.

His second talk, will focus on The Moon Hoax in which Phil expertly debunks the arguments that Americans never landed men on the moon.

A booksigning will be held in booth #1 on the conference floor immediately following the talks.
